Workers Compansation

When a person is injured on the job or develops a medical condition caused by the work environment, a claim must be made through the NYS Workers’ Compensation Board. The Workers’ Compensation system is rarely explained to employees and workers need experienced guidance in legal representation to obtain all the benefits to which they are entitled. The employer must be notified of the work related injury or condition immediately and forms must be filed with the Workers’ Compensation Board along with medical reports connecting the injury to the employment. Insurance companies make money by not paying claims or limiting what is paid on claims.

Being injured on the job impacts your personal life and your rights under other areas of law. If you are out of work for more than one year, you may be eligible for Social Security disability benefits. If your doctor indicates that you are partially able to work but your employer does not have work for you, you can collect partial Workers’ Compensation disability and NYS unemployment benefits. If you are injured on the job as the result of negligence of a non coworker, you may be entitled to a personal injury lawsuit. This is especially true when you are injured in a motor vehicle accident involving your work. An injured worker needs an attorney capable of handling these other areas of practice that may come into play. You need experienced guidance to recognize the effects an injury has on your life and how various legal rights are effected.

Gregg H. Redmond has been representing injured workers through the workers’ compensation system for more than fifteen years. The attorney handles your file every step of the way. This fosters a more personal relationship between the attorney and the client and gives clients a better understanding of the issues involved and how your rights are impacted.

Please contact Gregg H. Redmond if you have been injured on the job or have a medical condition resulting from your work. There is no fee unless we are able to achieve a monetary result for you and both the claimant and judge must agree to the amount of the fee.
